Doors, Windows and Shutters for Commercial and Industrial Buildings
ABS Cladding Services is an industrial roofing, cladding and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) contractor based in Wolverhampton. Our main work is roof refurbishment and planned maintenance for warehouses, factories, distribution centres, schools and other commercial buildings, and we work nationwide.
Alongside that, we install, inspect and repair fire doors, security doors, roller shutters and commercial windows. We take on this work for any commercial or industrial business, whether or not you already use us for roofing or maintenance. If we are already on your site for a PPM visit, we can also plan door, shutter and window works into the same visit, saving you a separate contractor, induction and set of access arrangements.
We work on commercial and industrial properties only and do not take on domestic work.
Fire Doors
Fire doors only protect a building if they close, latch and seal as intended. Damaged leaves, worn hinges, missing seals and failed closers are common in busy commercial and industrial buildings, particularly on routes used by forklifts, pallet trucks and deliveries.
We provide:
- Fire door inspection: checks of the door leaf, frame, gaps, hinges, closers, latches, intumescent strips, smoke seals, signage and glazing, with photographs and a clear list of defects
- Fire door repairs: adjusting doors and closers, replacing seals and strips, replacing worn hinges and ironmongery, and correcting excessive gaps where a repair is suitable
- Fire door installation: supplying and fitting replacement fire doorsets and fire exit doors where repair is not appropriate
- Fire door certificates: we issue fire door certificates for the work we carry out, along with inspection reports for your fire safety file
Regular fire door inspection helps responsible persons and facilities managers keep fire safety measures in good working order. Your fire risk assessment should guide how often doors are checked.
Any work on a fire door must keep its fire performance intact. Where a door cannot be repaired without affecting its rating, we will tell you and recommend a replacement.
Security Doors and Steel Doors
Doors on industrial units, schools and NHS buildings take heavy use and need to keep people and property secure. We supply, fit and repair:
- Steel security doors: robust steel doors for plant rooms, stores, warehouses, back-of-house areas and external entrances
- Fire exit doors: steel fire exit doors with panic or push bar hardware, so escape routes stay secure from outside and easy to open from inside
- Commercial and industrial doorsets: complete door, frame and ironmongery sets for commercial and industrial units, schools and NHS sites
- Repairs and ironmongery: replacing locks, hinges, closers and panic hardware, and repairing damaged frames and leaves on existing steel doors
Roller Shutters and Industrial Doors
A roller shutter that will not open stops deliveries. One that will not close leaves the building insecure. Regular servicing finds worn parts before they fail, and can be planned into the same visits as your roof and gutter maintenance.
We provide:
- Roller shutter servicing: inspection, cleaning, lubrication and adjustment of the curtain, guides, barrel, springs, bottom rail and locking, with a written service record
- Roller shutter repairs: replacing damaged laths and slats, bottom rails, guides, springs and locks, repairing impact damage, and replacing motors and controls on electric shutters
- Roller doors and industrial doors: supplying and installing manual and motorised roller doors, including the motor and switch gear, where a new door is needed or repair is no longer worthwhile
- Electrical supply: for motorised shutters, the client usually provides a five-pin electrical supply on the wall next to the door. If you do not have one, we can install the power supply for you on request.
Commercial Windows
Damaged or poorly sealed windows let in water and draughts, weaken site security and are often mistaken for roof leaks. Our roof and cladding inspections regularly find leaks around window frames and the cladding next to them, so dealing with both together makes sense.
We provide:
- Window repairs: replacing failed seals and gaskets, adjusting or replacing hinges, handles and locks, and resealing frames to the surrounding cladding or masonry
- Glazing: replacing cracked, broken or misted glazed units
- Window replacement: replacing individual commercial windows or groups of windows on offices, workshops and industrial units
- Making safe: temporary boarding or securing of damaged windows, followed by a permanent repair

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work for companies that are not existing clients?
Yes. We carry out fire door, security door, roller shutter and window work for any commercial or industrial business. Existing PPM clients can also have the work planned into their scheduled visits.
Do you issue fire door certificates?
Yes. We issue fire door certificates for the work we carry out, together with inspection reports and photographs for your fire safety records.
Can fire door inspections be added to our existing PPM programme?
Yes. Fire door inspections and roller shutter servicing can be added to your planned maintenance schedule and included in the same report as your roof, gutter and cladding inspections.
Do you install and repair electric roller shutters?
Yes. We supply and install motorised roller shutters complete with the motor and switch gear, and we repair electric shutters as well as manual ones. The electrical supply (usually a five-pin supply on the wall) is normally provided by the client, or we can install it on request.
Can you repair a roller shutter or do we need a new one?
Many faults, such as damaged laths, worn springs, bent guides or failed locks, can be repaired. If a shutter is beyond economical repair, we will explain why and quote for a replacement. All quotations are exclusive of VAT.
Do you do domestic doors and windows?
No. We work on commercial and industrial properties only.
